    Chocolate Gravy and Biscuits

Man I am craving this, have not had it in a couple years. My Grandparents came from Rush Arkansas to CA during the depression and made this on Sundays. I have her old recipe and will post it later but this stuff does a person good every now and then. I use half a cup of sugar.

    Very Healthy indeed.....

    READY IN: 35mins SERVES: 6
YIELD: 1 1/2 cups UNITS: US

    INGREDIENTs:

1 cup granulated sugar or 1 cup Splenda sugar substitute
    1 tablespoon butter
    1 1⁄2 cups milk
    2 tablespoons flour
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (we prefer Hershey's)

    DIRECTIONS

Mix all the dry ingredients in a heavy saucepan with a whisk. Using a whisk blends everything better than a spoon. Stir in the milk.
Cook over medium heat stirring constantly. Remove the pot when the mixture is thick like pudding.
Add the butter. Stir in until completely melted. Serve over biscuits with a teaspoon of butter dolloped on top.

Love me a good plate of biscuits and gravy. But biscuits/gravy and chocolate....the two shall never meet.

An ex of mine used to make Chocolate and biscuits every so often. I didn't turn away from it, but it's something I haven't missed either. Her kids and mine devoured them.

My Grandma was from Helena Arkansas, And her chocolate gravy syrup was "the Bomb". We usually had it on pancakes, and there was no left overs for biscuits..
Thanks Toefoot, I have been wanting to look up the recipe.
