I was able to get a knife from a guy who worked in a saw mill. he used broken saw mill blade and made them into knives. I believe if my memory serves me right, the name of his business was Eight Dollar Mountain Foundry. I got the knife for $100. it came with a leather sheath and my name was on the handguard. it is a good custom made knife, I got it sometime in mid 90's.

While I agree, there should be a Leatherman type tool in there.

Have carried at least one pocket flashlight for going on 20 years. Today it's a walmart special that uses two AA batteries. Sits right in the back pocket next to my wallet.

Have two Uncle Henry pocket knives - one blue steel that's razor Sharp. Along with a small hand gun spare ammo, a hand cuff key and fountain pen - yeah I'm old school

    Really want a benchmade.

And I agree that a leatherman type tool should be carried

For flashlights I carry a streamlight micro stream (single AAA) at work.

On my off days I carry a streamlight stylus pro. (2 AAA)

Both are great quality, built tough, easy on batteries and just the right amount of light for utility purposes. They also carry very well with their pocket clips. The microstream clip enables it to be used as a head lamp if you're wearing a ball cap.

Try a Gerber Cortex Flashlight uses either Double AA's or the CR123A batteries I replaced the surefire I lost on my last deployment with it, but I do have a bunch of good LED ones from wal mart which use AA or AAA batteries and my 20 year old trusty mini mag lite still.

Every Man Should Carry a Pocket Knife

The History of the Pocket Knife

First Century Romans created the first folding pocket knife. They made for easy carrying for soldiers and other explorers on their journeys and conquests. However, as the use of sheathed knives became more popular, the use of pocket knives fell somewhat into disfavor.

By the late 16th Century, pocket knives began to regain popularity. They were especially popular in the American colonies. From farmers to lawyers, men from all walks of life started to carry them. The ultimate portable tool,

Been carrying one since my grandfather gave me my first one as a kid. A hand-me-down of his. Still have it tucked away somewhere too.

I didn't start out with the intention but I have become a collector as well. Any type of straight edge or folder that peeks my interest I'll pick up if the price is right.
