A good one to bump, as I started a new project lately.
I don't want to put out details considering my location, but it involves a block of semi-milled aluminum. The other parts will follow as the budget allows.

Yes it did take a lot of work.
The receiver was annealed then machined to the defined configuration including a position for a bolt stop then heat treated again.
Several parts were made, bolt stop, spring guide stock liner.
Most work was done in my Bridgeport mill.
What you are doing is perfectly legal as long as you don't sell it.
