Yeah I know what you mean. My other hobby is taking stock golf carts and turning them into something...well not so stock.

Gun wise, took an M1 Garand and converted it to take M14 magazines.
    Sorry, no picture capability.

Did it take a lot of work?

I hadn't seen this thread before.
A good one to bump, as I started a new project lately.
I don't want to put out details considering my location, but it involves a block of semi-milled aluminum. The other parts will follow as the budget allows.

Yes it did take a lot of work.
The receiver was annealed then machined to the defined configuration including a position for a bolt stop then heat treated again.
Several parts were made, bolt stop, spring guide stock liner.
Most work was done in my Bridgeport mill.

What you are doing is perfectly legal as long as you don't sell it.

They don't like not having numbers to track. The less they have, the better I like it.

Damned if I didn't drop it in the River.

After today's announcement about Hillary getting her Get out of Jail Free Card, I saw that PSA had a Daily Deal that I just couldn't pass up.
I was reading last night (surprise) about Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black.
Anyone here have any experience with it?
    BAH FUCKING HUMBUG!
