I am interested in that barley wine going to see if I can get that at my beer store. I am hooked since Killer Penguin.

I had no idea Jack Daniel's came in plastic pint bottles nowadays. Photo evidence:

    Cheers!

I have lamented here a few time about the one bad thing about living in AZ is the lack of good quality beers. I can get some flavors of Lagunitas and Sierra Nevada (of course). Stone IPA is sold here but they want an arm and a leg for it - around $21 per 12 pack! There is a local brewery called Four Peaks that is okay, but not great. Beyond that, I am pretty much stuck with Bud.

I found the solution to my problem this evening!

I was lost driving around Tucson this evening when I happened across a Total Wine store. We had them in MN and they had some quality beers but mostly they were a snooty wine store there. I stopped in and was thrilled to discover that about half the store was dedicated to good beer! And it was mostly cheaper than what I was paying in MN!

My first pickup was a pair from a local brewery.

I have to admit, I bought these two because of the names. The house we are building sits next to the Dragoon Mountains and the Cochise Stronghold is a box canyon right behind where we are building.

I have never tried the second one I picked out, but anything from Stone is going to be at least good, and probably great.

Then I happened upon one of my favorites that I was sure I would never see again unless I went back to the upper midwest.

Finally, I thought... What the hell, they won't have it, but I should at least look to be sure... Low and behold, I was able to snag the last two bottles of Killer Penguin!!!!

A friend stopped by with 6 of these. Belgium lager. Light decent flavor not bad. No aftertaste.
