I am intersted in finding out what the best sub-compact .380 or 9mm would be?

Ruger LCP .380

Welcome. Glock 42, Kahr PM 9 or 380.
I carry a LCP, the heavy trigger pull is the "safety".
Kind of elimnates snub nose revolvers too then.
personally if it were me I wouldn't have anything that could accidentally get caught with items typically in a purse. A single level of safety is never enough in conditions that warrant more. Most woman buy the LCP because it is compact and can be a good "purse" gun. Many women will not use holsters, even if they buy them for their purse. Typically, most women do not buy a revolver (save for the derringers) for a purse gun, unless they are older. They buy something semi-auto. Many women also dig through their purses with haste on a regular basis. All facts together amount to me hating this particular model. All facts individually can be argued all day long.....as in most situations and with any weapon.
That's why one should always holster their weapon.
A perfect world this is not....the LCP is more or less marketed to women as a "purse gun." I have heard it referred to this way in many situations, mostly in gun shops. Despite what one would do in a perfect world, the likelihood of them always being "holstered" in a purse is pretty slim....and even if they are, something could still jam in the trigger guard. All weapons have Pros and Cons....this one just irritates me because of the marketing behind it and possibility of something detrimental happening as the outcome. That's my opinion though.
