Wife brought home 2 peach trees today. a "Summer Prince' and a "White Lady". She seen a special $13 each. I don't think I have ever had a white peach but from what I found online they both are very good. One ripens in June and the other in Late July so that will help me out when canning them. Last year was my first year canning peaches. They were very small. Only got 24 pints. Just opened the first jar the other day everyone liked them.

I bought another mora knife. you can't best a classic, right? If there's something better for opening my Amazon orders, I don't know what it is.

Yeah, I know you all open the amazon boxes with your AKs and ARs, and yeah, that's fun. ****s up the canned corn though.

I open my boxes with explosives. I learned from the people in Houston. What model of Mora did you get? I like the heavy duty Companion model in carbon steel. I usually get them in a bright orange color as they are easier to spot if I drop them in the woods. I agree they are great (cheap) knives.

Anyway, I ordered a few more Sawyer Minis and Katadyne Carbon Elements (camping/hiking model). It is hard to beat that filter combination for usefulness, ability, longevity, and portability. A set runs less than $40 and can be used for the rest of your lifetime if you care for them.

I picked up a new pair of Rocky hiking boots. Good boots are one of the most important pieces of survival equipment that you can have, and they are one of the most overlooked.

Adopted a ruger 10/22 from a friend at work. Basic and sexy.
Looking at property, I know, I have been for years, but now that both vehicles are paid off, I gotta get serious. Missed an opporatunity at a great river front property, still kicking myself in the ass. Gotta stop buying guns. Supposed to sell the S&W 9 i picked up two or three weeks ago. Might throw in a laser I had sitting in a toolbox, just to get my $300 back.

I am starting bug out bags for a niece and nephew. They are younger (10 and 7 years old). I ordered them each a Condor Compact Assault Pack, a couple water canteens, and a couple smaller pouches to boost the capacity of the bag if needed. I already got them each a Sawyer Mini, and I am making a small fire kit (a lighter and a few petroleum soaked cotton balls). They will not carry much more than a spare set of clothes, clothes for the season, a shemagh, food, and water.

I ordered a Condor Convoy Backpack. It is a small 22 liter pack, and it is essentially a miniaturized version of their popular 3 Day Assault Pack. I plan on using this pack as an EDC bag.

I almost forgot my most important prep. I got a new dog. She is a 14 month old Catahoula leopard hound/Labrador retriever mix. She is tiny as far as both breeds go as she tips the scale at around 28 pounds and is pretty much full grown. She is a great dog I got as a rescue. She had been separated from her owners during the last hurricane that struck Houston, TX.

Here is a picture of my new girl Lena. She is every bit as sweet as she looks. Yes, her eyes really are that light blue.
