Yes, I could be convicted of murder/manslaughter, if it is a prankster. But, I think that it would be easy, to distinguish the real from the fake.
Not too many pranksters are 8 or 9 feet tall, or weigh 400-500 ibs., so even if I put it between the eyes, it may be a fake head.
If the fool is walking around in the woods, in a Bigfoot costume, there would be a case for self-defense. A claim could be made that I did not know what it was.
The law is not cut an dried on killing, and that is where jury trials come into play. Anyone that is stupid enough to put on a Bigfoot costume, would be culpable in his own death.
