Thats the era (60's-70's) of cars I drove growing up.

You have a looker right there!

One of the cars I had similar to yours was a Cutlass F85 with a 350 rocket in it.

YEA!.I had a 65 rag top, just a lemans but a punched 400 with a nice healthy cam and a holley 850 and headers with a turbo 400 and 3.73 gears would tear just about anything a new A-hole.

I miss having a fast car.I would like to build another something someday.

Previous owner had some drive train work done. Cam, lifters, mallory distributor/ignition, shift kit, 373 gears, hooker headers, 3" exhaust. It's by no means fast, but it's got lots of torque.

I re-did the front and rear suspension which was original. QA1 shocks, front and rear springs +2 in the back, bushings, tie rods, ball joints, links, etc... Swapped the 55a alternator for a 105a, new quick ratio starter.

This year is new gauges (all the oem gauges work but have no numbers for oil pressure, volts, temp) then... The dreaded trans drop to replace the $6 front seal. Gotta remove the headers to drop the trans. Good times ahead.

I'll probably have to hit the potty mouth forum after the trans drop!

Cortez Gold? Very nice, I've always been a classic Buick fan, Skylark is on my want list, GS would be nice, does that emblem under the GS badges say Stage 1? I have a couple older A bodies.

My first car almost exactly. Mine was Cortez gold but with a white top. Mine stayed pretty much stock till about 200K miles. Replaced the pistons and cam with 70 model ones. Pistons brought the compression ratio to 9.5 from 8.5 and the HP from 265 to 315. I had LOTS of fun in that car. Just sold it a couple years ago. Seems it had become a target, assholes kept hitting when it was parked. Got the doors on both sides, left rear quarter and of course didn't leave a note. It had 300K+ on it when I sold it. Got $2500 for it, more than half what it cost new. Still kick myself for selling it.

Those were the days! I think you could buy a brand new 64 for about $3500.00 or so.

I had a 64 without a title, some guy gave me.I planned on trying to fake a pink slip somehow but, some turkey driving drunk nailed my 65 one fine day and sideswiped the left side from front end to back of drivers door,I took the 64 front end and door assembly and put on my 65.it bolted right up,just a few shims here and there.luckily no frame damage.my 65 was a rat rod before there were rat rods in 1982,manual top,(convertible pump shot, tossed it),no heater,Vega seats,4 point roll bar, firebird spindles with disc brakes, chev truck power brake unit and big bore master cylinder, square tube rear control arms and camaro sway bars, whatever worked that was free or cheap.

That concoction sure confused a lot of people.

Yep Cortez Gold. Not a Stage, couldn't afford one of those in the condition this one is in. I picked this up for just under $10k and put a couple grand in the suspension and a few bolt on items. Its appraised and insured for $17k now.

Waiting for TA Performance to come out with those alum. 350 heads.

Same here. Don't get me wrong, id still take a 65+ but the 64's have class.

I think that can be said for most of the 'old school,' muscle cars. The new stuff is fun to drive, but not quite the same.

Don't get me wrong, I like my '07 Charger. I'll have to dig out some pictures when the weather clears up and I can wash it.
