Do you have a backup plan if absolutely everything goes south?
Well, if you don’t,

Ellsworth AFB is in Rapid City, SD. It is a missile base and bombers with a nuclear alert force. You can bet it would be one of the first targets.

One of those? Maybe if I won the lottery, I always wanted my own silo!

Think about it though... 25k is chicken feed these days. It would cost you about 12 to 15k just for a pole barn these days.

Yup. I do like some of the premade bunkers though, mainly as a tornado/storm shelter, but the wife had a good idea. Turn it into a man-cave/bar so we get regular use out of it.

Thats what I'd do with it. Man cave/Tornado shelter.

People pay more than that for boats and RV's they use twice a year.

That would be a loonng bugout to make it to that shelter.
If they could build it where you want it, it could have value (esp. as a mancave)

Those are just east of Rapid City South Dakota on Ellsworth AFB.....and a nuke target....big negative IMO. I don't worry about a nuclear war anyway...I'm going out with the eruption of the Yellowstone Super Volcano.

“Bug out” to a shelter that you share with 6000 to 10,000 strangers? No thank you.

I'll bet you couldn't build one like it for 10 times what they're asking. The drawback is the location....a fella may have to get used to eating prairie dogs though.....that's about all there is alive there. Oh that's right.....the sod poodles carry plague!

That's an old military ammo bunker.
There was a bunch of those south of what is now Palm Beach International Airport (Trump's home strip), left over from WWII.
They used to hold bombs for the coastal patrol aircraft that went looking for German U Boats.
In the late 60's and early 70's there were some great parties there. Sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll. But of course, I wouldn't know anything about that.

I would just build my own sand bag shelter. Way cheaper. That reminds me I need to get started on mine. All one needs is sand bags, barbed wire, and dirt. They are typically built like igloos with a row or two of barbed wire to hold each layer together. Those shelters are incredibly strong. The only thing is the bags need to be covered with dirt as they have a shelf life as far as how much UV light they can handle. The advantage is that they can be made smaller and hidden easier.
