I think silver and gold are going to hit new lows next week. I dont see silver going under $15/oz. I could be wrong, of course finding any deals will be the trick. I did manage 12 ASE's off craigslist the other day.

Who else has been buying or has anyone been holding off? $1200/oz next week and $17.80 silver. My predictions even thought the radio tells me it will hit $50/oz this year.

I have not been following gold much lately. But I have been watching silver. Sometimes I like to play options on the iShares for it. - Yeah I know, buying derivatives on a derivative... What could possibly go wrong? I do it more for fun than making any money, kind of like how some guys bet on sports.

Silver hit a 52 week low today but closed a few pennies higher. We will see next week. If it can hold above $17.76 next week, then I think it trades flat for a few months. If it breaks much below that, it could break below $15 before it finds support.

If it hits below $15 I just don't see any moving.

Can ANYONE explain to me why silver and gold are so low?

It's still three times what it was in 2000

Precious metals are low when the trust in the dollar is high. Right now it is all an illusion and if true inflation rate was published then the price of gold and silver would double overnight.

The stock market is in control right now but it too is an illusion.

The price is low because of "paper" contracts which is the rich mans way of manipulating the market.

If you own silver or gold then keep it, you investment will pay off.

If you don't own it, then this is the time to buy it.

There is a bible verse talking about redeeming a man for a gold coin, it is coming soon!

my wife just informed me that she doesn't want me to purchase anymore silver (we have a lot) so I am fine with that. We have enough to be very wealthy SHTF and the little fiat dollars we have in the bank will really not matter in the long run.

My suggestion is to get as much as you can afford after you have 2 years of food and a reliable water source figured out.

There are a lot of reasons. It's a buyers market.

Oh, you'd better believe I am watching this.
I didn't think I'd be buying any more silver this year, but I think I'll be changing my mind on that.

As you already know, Russia and China are amassing precious metals as they work with BRICS nations to undermine the dollar. Both are running into headwinds, but that doesn't mean they won't gain ground.

We're goin for the gold. We'll be digging for it ourselves! Can't wait for the 29th.
Camping, getting in the creeks, what more could a girl ask for?

I appreciate the shallow response on the post.

1. For those that are trying to prep, this seems a stupid argument as they have food, water, and ammo to stock.

2. For the very very few that have that covered, it is a good argument.

I will talk to the people in the under 10% class, so please consider getting a few ounces of silver (not gold). If you can find 20 Morgan ounces or Liberty Ounces in the $28 dollar range you will offset your losses several hundred fold.

Of course if you cannot feed yourself for 18 months it will take this option out, then either don't pay attention to me or learn to eat possum.

It will become common in my sons generation that people will be living in buildings with dirt floors. Unless you prepare learn how to use a broom.

I agree whole-heatedly with both those statements. If you do not have your water, food and security straight then buying PM's as a prep is a fools errand.

But if you are in a situation like mine, there's only so many more places I can put ammo in my house and I'm getting tired of burying it, then silver and gold are good investments especially silver at it's current price. This past weekend I picked up some generic bars at $17.50.

And it continues to fall. It has dropped about $170 an ounce in the last year?

My wife is pissed, I put back another 500 ounces of silver a few days back (it is called a monster box)

American Eagles are green boxes, Canadian maples are yellow boxes it really doesn't matter.

2 Years ago I purchased Campbells cream of chicken soup for .49 cents per can.

The best deal I can find now is $89 cents per can

I have a lot of cream of chicken soup, but if you think inflation isn't sucking your checking account dry, do the math.

I recently heard that ground beef is about $4 a pound (I don't buy that as I shoot a lot of wild game), that is twice the price I remember from 5 years ago.

my point is Inflation is happening, the dollar is being deluded and you need to consider a hedge if you can.

The stock market will crash so have some physical gold or (better) silver on hand.

Fantastic buying time! OF course, I say that every time prices fall.

The mark-up of some companies have me fuming. APMEX, for example.

A recent experience

I just contacted my silver buyer, at $15 and ounce I said give me 1000 ounces and he said yes of course it will take 2 months to deliver and the premium is $5 (usually it is $4)

At $15 you should get anything you can below $19 per ounce

The American mint is sold out

Just for the record, you were right.

You should print this off and show your wife, she will probably not believe you!
