The Native Americans loved the pawpaw. It was readily available to them and it had many uses. However, despite the fact that they’re very useful and there are still many of these trees throughout the states where they’re a native species, they’ve been largely forgotten by society at large. If you’re a prepper in one of those states, and pawpaws don’t figure in your emergency planning, this article is for you.
What is Pawpaw?

Thanks hg, I added the pawpaw to my list of things to grow last year, ordered 10 bare root trees this spring, boy they take forever to leaf out, don't throw them away thinking you got crap, I got 9/10 to survive. The are currently in 1 gal pots waiting till fall to plant down in my wetlands (where the duck pond water overflows), and they should flourish, all the trees and Bermuda grass go wild in that area, must be the duck dung. I'll let you know how successful I do at it.
