need help with used wine bottles

my wife demanding I start making mead and after looking into it i feel i would like to give it a try
my issue is the cost of the reusable bottles being at $18 to even 56$ a bottle
so my question is can i simple reuse old wine bottles?
i don't see no difference between empty bottles they sell and the ones that was pre-filled but i thought I'll ask first in hope someone here might know

I reuse beer bottles when I make beer. So I do not see why you could not just do the same for mead. Just make sure you sanitize them.

I had a bunch wine bottles Rubberduck came across but we cut the necks off and made guitar slides.

Quick search on craigslist for free wine bottles abd I always find one or two people with few boxes

On Craigs list I scored about 200 bottles of Grolsch beer bottles, a must have for beer brewing, and of course you can buy them new from any home brew supply.
