He had NY VF plates, meaning he is a vollie in NY. They run blue lights for POVs for fire calls. What really kills me is the fire police DOT vest, and no actual turnout gear. All that for freaking fire police to do traffic control. He's got more stuff than some apparatus I've seen. An air compressor? 2 two-way radios, plus 5-6 portable radios? WTF?

Back in my younger days I was a volunteer fireman. The engine I drove was the main rescue vehicle, and it didn't have that much crap. My Jeep had a dashboard mount alternating flash red light.
And it worked just fine.
