Here is my thought...

I've used a Magnum inverter for almost 18 months with not any problem at all, I run a really demanding system and it has given me no problems at all.

That being said you should also look for a charge controller and for that I suggest "Outback", it also has been a reliable unit and I like the tracking it does as my panels converts watts into amps, etc

IMO look into talking to the people at www.backwoodssolar.com

I found their products very competitive and they are very reliable.

BUT

I purchased my batteries locally for almost half the price, if you live near any decent population center (for me about 60K people) you can find an auto supply shop that will sell you 6volt batteries for solar around $225 each which beats anyone price in the $385-400 dollar range.

This is just my experience but I have run a 3750w solar panel array on a 48v system for 1.5 years so I have pretty decent experience.
