Unless you have a vehicle manufactured before the use of computer controlled ignitions, it would be wise to keep and extra system just in case of an EMP situation
Our son's and I all have an extra computer box, battery and alternator for each of our vehicle. We keep them stored in a metal box that has a rubber padded shelf in it. The box serves as a 'Faraday' cage to prevent damage from an Electro Magnetic Pulse whether it be from the Sun or a Nuclear explosion
