I needed beer, so rather than driving to the grocery store to get good beer (which is about a 45 minute trip each way), I decided to just pick up some cheap beer at the local dollar store. I got the very last 12 pack in the whole damn store! It is some kind of Bud Platinum stuff that I have never heard of.

People seem to be getting really worked up about the virus. But at least the folks in my area seem to have their priorities straight!

I have seen no changes in people up here the trailer trash are getting their tax checks and buying new TV's and gaming systems lots of flatlanders skiing and riding the trails but no changes in food or water buying that I noticed.
Maybe they aren't worried the kung flu can survive the cold up here lol

The ones i am talking about come in high as shit, smelling enough of marijuana to give me a contact buzz, bridge card in their wallet, kids are dirty with ill fitting clothes, and they are telling me they just got their tax money and are headed to Walmart to buy a new TV after they drop 600 on games and a new PS4....

I lived in a trailerfor awhile but I wasn't trash, just like manyothersIknow. It is how you live with dignity and respect for yourself and others.

It is a panic button reflex or something, they could just buy and fill up a 500 gallon tank. But that would be sensible, so the heck with that.
If they ever drink spring water straight from the spring, or well water; or from an uncontaminated mountain creek, they won't buy bottled water again.

Thing is in my area most have a well? And even if the ones that are on city water its still weird ? why water? Whats that got to do with the corona cough and the dip in the stock market? They had bleach but no bottled water ....people are stupid!

...Figured I'd pop my head back in here and see what you fine people are up to. In Suburban Houston, people are quietly stocking up. You can see the nervous looks on their faces. I even had the displeasure of overhearing an elderly woman begging for additional prescription refills at the pharmacy.

I've just been stocking up on vodka, shit-tickets, and protein.

They have a well and they are buying bottled water? OK, that is pretty stupid, that is all I can say. I would say that they are buying water; because they heard somewhere; a little something about needing water, in an emergency. And that is all that their mouse brains can remember.

Yes that is about what I see. I did hear in Ohio car dealers will be closed. I believe this is more to keep crowds down and make sure everyone keeps their social distance. It can be enforced also now as it was just a volunteer effort before. I figure large cities there are a lot of people just going about whatever they want to do so now they can really enforce it if they feel the need to. I also figure the health departments will be doing a lot of spot checks at restaurants and such

Columbus OH is a great example of an area where they cannot enforce this. CPD and Franklin Sheriff's cannot keep that area under control during regular days/weeks, but to enforce this? There isn't enough Reserve officers or National Guard to hope to do more than the occasional arrest/detention.

So I don't agree with the Republicans at all on the stimulus package as it looks like they just want to bail out corporations with extra $$$ and not send lower income but half of what they send others. I know before everyone bitches at me there are some that sit on there a** and collect all they can but this stimulus package is more corporate WELFARE than anything. One point to consider, if your wife's employer goes under, there is no future job to be had later when the economy improves. Most families could make do if one parent lost a job, it just means making sacrifices they may not normally make.

My wife is probably going to be laid off today when she leaves work and the store she works at may not ever re-open after all this, even with help from the government. So I am looking at a very similar situation as you, my wife will be out of work but her job won't be there for her to go back to.

No package is going to be perfect, but it needs to focus on big picture ideas rather than anything else.

I have no problem helping companies out at all. I just think they can do more to help families also. This is a no win situation. I just think that the companies use it to their advantage like stock buy backs etc and most know how to avoid most taxes . I think there should be a middle line and I think we should fire the whole dam* bunch in Washington! Term limits so no one can have there agenda for decades. I would rather not see the country in this situation. But its here now. Can I survive without it yes I'm sure. So if I can the companies can.

435 in the House plus 100 senators. That is why there are also 535 in the Electoral College as well.O.k., so gov't studies wasn't my strong point.

So day #2 of Ohio's mandatory " Stay at Home" order. The sun rose both days although we didn't see the sun rise becasue of the clouds. All seems well. Haven't shot any thieves or had to run any crazies from the city off the property. Wife being home is a little weird but she hasn't killed me yet! Lol. Food supply is good haven't really changed any day to day activities. Power company called for an emergency outage within an hour. We loaded up the generator and before we got it in place the power was one. Supposed to be out until 12 pm. So all is well here in Ohio hope all is well with other OTP member where ever you location! Always locked and loaded and prepared! Everyone Stay Safe!!!

Yeah so far no real changes here in Northern Michigan, doing a deep spring clean of one room a day the dogs are going to be pissed when I finally go back to work.
Let's see how things look in a week.

No clue whatsoever how things are off Peaceful Mountain.

Did hear Spokane LE are NOT going to enforce Inslee's social distancing orders; only advise/inform violators rather than ticket/arrest.
East side of state is very different than west side of state.

Every morning I check our county’s arrests for the last 24 hrs, sometimes I may know someone, anyway, there haven’t been any arrests for the last three days and the jail population is down to about half of what it normally is, the making of a perfect storm for public safety....JMO

It makes me think the police are being tasked with something else at the moment.

I’m sure with the virus in play it creates unexpected variables and circumstances that none of us were expecting, though someone shot a pellet gun or a BB gun at my truck last night, not going to bother law enforcement with it, but it sure pisses me off.10237

I urge everyone laid off or making less during this time to make calls to your loan and credit card companies they are deferring payments for no extra cost not all but some.

I talked with a man today, an 80+-year-old man. I asked him if there was anything I can get him while this Coronavirus scare was gripping America.
He simply smiled, looked away and said:
"Let me tell you what I need! I need to believe, at some point, this country my generation fought for... I need to believe this nation we handed safely to our children and their children...
I need to know this generation will quit being a bunch of sissies...that they respect what they've been given...that they've earned what others sacrificed for."
I wasn't sure where the conversation was going or if it was going anywhere at all. So, I sat there, quietly observing.
"You know, I was a little boy during WWII. Those were scary days. We didn't know if we were going to be speaking English, German or Japanese at the end of the war. There was no certainty, no guarantees like Americans enjoy today.
And no home went without sacrifice or loss. Every house, up and down every street, had someone in harm's way. Maybe their Daddy was a soldier, maybe their son was a sailor, maybe it was an uncle. Sometimes it was the whole damn family...fathers, sons, uncles...
Having someone, you love, sent off to war...it wasn't less frightening than it is today. It was scary as Hell. If anything, it was more frightening. We didn't have battlefront news. We didn't have email or cellphones. You sent them away and you hoped...you prayed. You may not hear from them for months, if ever. Sometimes a mother was getting her son's letters the same day Dad was comforting her over their child's death.
And we sacrificed. You couldn't buy things. Everything was rationed. You were only allowed so much milk per month, only so much bread, toilet paper. EVERYTHING was restricted for the war effort. And what you weren't using, what you didn't need, things you threw away, they were saved and sorted for the war effort. My generation was the original recycling movement in America.
And we had viruses back then...serious viruses. Things like polio, measles, and such. It was nothing to walk to school and pass a house or two that was quarantined. We didn't shut down our schools. We didn't shut down our cities. We carried on, without masks, without hand sanitizer. And do you know what? We persevered. We overcame. We didn't attack our President, we came together. We rallied around the flag for the war. Thick or thin, we were in it to win. And we would lose more boys in an hour of combat than we lose in entire wars today."
He slowly looked away again. Maybe I saw a small tear in the corner of his eye. Then he continued:
"Today's kids don't know sacrifice. They think sacrifice is not having coverage on their phone while they freely drive across the country. Today's kids are selfish and spoiled. In my generation, we looked out for our elders. We helped out with single moms whose husbands were either at war or dead from war. Today's kids rush the store, buying everything they can...no concern for anyone but themselves. It's shameful the way Americans behave these days. None of them deserve the sacrifices their granddads made.
So, no I don't need anything. I appreciate your offer but, I know I've been through worse things than this virus. But maybe I should be asking you, what can I do to help you? Do you have enough pop to get through this, enough steak? Will you be able to survive with 113 channels on your tv?"
I smiled, fighting back a tear of my own...now humbled by a man in his 80's. All I could do was thank him for the history lesson, leave my number for emergency and leave with my ego firmly tucked in my rear.
I talked to a man today. A real man. An American man from an era long gone and forgotten. We will never understand the sacrifices. We will never fully earn their sacrifices. But we should work harder to learn about them..learn from them...to respect them.

I talked to one of my stepdads mushroom hunting buddies and it seems that my stepdad was convinced that he had Corona virus right after my Mom died. I guess anything is possible but I really believe it was more of a stress issue. Also talking with the county Coroner which just happened to be my Mom's doctor before she pass but he told me that my stepdads suicide was the 3 one in I believe he said 48 hours it might have be 24 hrs. We live in a small rural county.

This was a great video...everyone should watch... too many points learned to describe but here is the basics:

To Doctors, with over 40 years combined, in virology, bacteria, and immunology say the data shows a rate of spread about 6% or higher and a death rate of 0.015%, which puts it in the realm of similar to the flu (even with the flu vaccine). and the overall effective to quarantine at home is a reduced immune system, which will lead to a spike in other diseases. made great argument about why the government should have a damn good scientifically sound reason for trampling rights and the data doesn't support it.

two doctors being interviewed by about 5 experts in the media who argued every which way from sunday to trip them up or cast doubt on what they where saying.

Big Ken
04-27-2020, 06:35 PM
They also said by being forced into sheltering in place it causes increases in rape, suicide, depression and more, they also said the government doesn't have
the power or right to break the constitution by forcing us to stay in our homes, these guys are the doctors Trump needs standing nest to him in those daily
briefings, they said they respect Fauci but he hasn't seen a patient in 20 plus years!

My opinion:
Fauci, Gates and Soros are friends, this is a fact, nothing good can come of this, Fauci has the presidents ear, Soros wants to ruin the U.S. and Gates is
friends with China, he has interest in the bio lab there where the China Virus was created, he pushing/making a vaccine to cure the virus and there might
be some money to be made.
