I know Inor and a few others are into woodworking and if you dont already own the Kreg pocket hole jig go buy it now.

There is a 4 hole set for $100. but I always held off buying it. Saw the two hole the other day for $40. and figured I'd pull the trigger. This thing is awesome. Makes it so easy and they come out perfect. They try to get you to buy their clamp for another 40 but forget that. Regular old cheap clamps work fine.

I highly recommend this item. Even comes with 2 boxes of screws.

Nice pickup Squatch! The guys I know that have them, love them. I do not have one, mainly because I never think far enough ahead to buy it before I need it. By then, I do not want to wait for it to show up in the mail, so I just go back to cutting mortise and tenon joints. That would be a huge time saver.

I just realized if you buy it through their website you get the clamp for free. I got mine at Home Depot for $40. The clamp was an extra $40. (which I did not buy). So if you're thinling about buying one you might as well go through the site and get the free clamp.

As a budding woodworker, now with your own pad to start making some serious sawdust (and some goats), remember only one thing: He who dies with the most clamps, wins!

I love me some clamps. Need a few longer ones for big projects...But $40 bucks for their tiny little clamp is ridiculous.

Not to mention, I am getting married, so I already have the biggest clamp they make.

Awesome! Love the Kreg Jig System. I don't use it as much as I'd like but Son1 builds lots of stuff using my Kreg and he loves it.

Here's a tip. Get a 2X4 scrap piece and drill a couple of pocket holes with different sized bits. At the end of the scrap block, take a very small bit and drill into the end of the scrap piece lining up with your pocket holes. When you need some plugs, just insert the dowel into the pocket hole, cut off the excess and use a long thin nail to push the new Plug out of the pocket hole.

The first time I used the Kreg system I messed up the surface of the wood trying to cut off my plugs in the piece that I was working on.

Have fun!

An easy trick for flush cutting anything exactly right every time...

Get a straight router bit with a bottom bearing. Move the fence back behind the bit on the router table to exactly the same width as part you are keeping, so you are cutting on the back side of the bit. Feed the part into the router backward, that is left to right, rather than right to left as you normally would. The fence will keep the top of the part from flopping into the router bit and the bearing will keep the bottom from getting pulled into the bit. Cutting it on the back side of the router bit allows you an unobstructed view of the cut as you are making it. It is a cut that is almost impossible to screw up.

Caution: Just be sure to NOT wear loose clothes when making the cut since you have a router bit spinning at 25,000 RPMs between you and the part.

Not married yet but I bought the house and she shacked up with me. Her old house closes on the 1st of next month so I'm going to have all kinds of money to buy guns with.

The date is 6/20/20 but that is currently up in the air with all the pandemic nonsense. Wedding or not you guys are always welcome at Squatch Farms.
