Washboards can be used in a sink or bucket, or can also be used for washing in a river or any body of water, with or without soap. The preferred process is simple. Clothes are soaked in hot (soapy) water in a washtub, then squeezed and rubbed against the ridged surface of the washboard to force the cleansing fluid through the cloth to carry away dirt.

I have a small washboard but plan on using a toilet plunger instead.Oh ya the 5 gallon bucket rig. The wash board may enhance that rig If you have some real grungy stuff to wash. Mine is small enough to fit in a 5 gallon bucket the ridges on the board clean pretty darn good.

Mine would probably fit the bucket, too. It hangs on the wall for now as a rustic decoration. Like the kerosene lanterns, muskrat traps, hand dipped candles and other primitive items.

Got a washboard, just in case. Also have a hand-crank washer.

You know thats a damned good idea for those folks who have a non supportive non prepping partner, buy these things as decor and have them placed about. call it your rustic room. Hell they may even buy you some old-timey items that will serve as great prepper tools. Lanterns, hand crank meat grinder, grain mill.

I will not own a washboard! I would rather make a washer and spin drier out og 50 gallon plastic barrels. Much less work and a lot easier on my hands.

I have used a washboard in the past and it is not hard - the hard part is rinsing and wringing the clothes dry enough to hang on the line.

It is a lot easier with a couple of 50 gallon barrels - one with holes for drying and rinsing and the other without holes for washing.

Different type of washboard for sheets and blankets, that I plan to build. Basically a backstop so I can spread them out, bucket and brush to scrub, less water used and line dried.

I can use the top part of one of my broiler pans. It's got the ripples like a wash board. I have a janitor's bucket with a mop wringer (Brand new, So it's clean), And I can make my own laundry detergent. I'm set.

What is the furniture standing behind it? That looks pretty freakin' awesome too.

Its a Art Van furniture store coffee table. Its only about 15 years old but it caught our eye besause its at least not made of mush board and it looks old. Top is cool. There is a bunch of junk on it this was the only shot at the top without a bunch of crap sitting on it lol

I am starting over getting prepper gear.
Did have a nice washboard. And a wringer.

Have washed clothing in a tub before. Liked using the plunger much better than the washboard though. And without a wringer it is a royal pain
