Saw the thread on garlic . . .

Thought I'd pass on the pics of my green beans. In my lifetime . . . never have I seen just regular green beans grow like these have this year.

My fence is just at 5 ft . . . where the white half runners more or less quit. Maybe half will go closer to 6 feet . . . but that's it.

I stand flat footed and reach 8 ft . . . some of these are well above that even . . . so I laid them back over and ran them along the top of the fence.

And it may not look it . . . but those rows are a good 5 ft apart.

Tomato plants are close to the top of the stakes as well . . .

Potatoes are dying already . . .

Been one "something else" summer so far.

May God bless,
Dwight

Looking good!

Been getting some beans from the neighbors farm and made some dilly beans. Mators coming in now and just last night had the best sweet corn in decades we picked it and dropped in the boiling water oh my it is delicious!

Nice beans Dwight!!! Kentucky wonders? Blue lake poles?

I do scarlet runners too, they can be done green or saved as dry beans

As hawg said you do dillys and/or can?

As hawg said you do dillys and/or can? We ferment the dilly beans.

I do can pickles, tomatoes, chili sauce, hot mix gardenia etc but it's been a couple years. Now that I'm retired I'll get back into it. The last year I canned I was canning nights and weekends from the end of June thru to September. This year I still won't have time to can the veggies but will be canning massive amounts of venison.

The seed beans were sold to me for white half runners . . . my wife likes them best . . . they can easy . . . string easy . . . and they kind of roll thru the production stage . . . not 5 bushels today and none for the next week . . . then another 5 bushels.

I'm wondering though . . . bean seeds been known to get mixed up.

We'll find out in about 10 days . . . maybe. And all I do is put em in pint and quart jars . . . mighty good that way.

May God bless,
Dwight

If all goes well with my impossible to draw Elk tag....that I drew despite the odds, that's what I'll have. And will can some of it.
