Grand Rapids, Michigan — General Motors is recalling all Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicles sold worldwide to fix a battery problem that could cause fires, expanding a previous recall. The company last month told owners of 2017-2019 model year vehicles to park outdoors

I stay away from any GMs newer than ~ 1992. Those old ones I can still work on with what tools I have. I taught myself how to work on the old TBI fuel injection. You can get all the engine codes by jumping the plug with a paper clip
GM really pissed me off with the $otero bailout. They built a brand new factory, in Brazil and dumped a few of their divisons.
The only GM product I’ve ever owned was an old Chevy Vega back in the 80’s. It was a piece of junk. I could turn it off and the engine would diesel for hours. I had to hold the brake while in gear and let out the clutch to turn the crappy thing off. I will never put a dollar towards buying another GM junker.

A friend had one of those with the 4-cyl aluminum blocks that wore out ~40,000 miles. He kept 2 gallon jugs of drain oil in the trunk and had to fill oil more often than gas.
I've had a few Chevys, clunkers and nice ones. Still have 68 camaro rs/ss and a 80s C10 PU with ~35, 000 miles. Clunks were an older C10 I got for free, early 70s Nova, and a 89 S10 PU w/baja package. The later was a nice truck and I only paid $1000 for it, still have it might get it going for winter.

I had a ride in one once -- not to bad --- boring -- but OK ----- like siting on a fork lift ---
They only WANT you to think the batteries will blow up. (Well, okay, it's a GM so the batteries probably really do blow up). But I'll bet the real reason for the recall is so they can install the fagbot recharge module!

Going to the as station in the 70's, tell the gas attendant to check the gas and fill up the oil.

The reason or not, guarantee there will be more charge controls in place with the new batteries regardless.

Hurry run out and buy a GM car or truck so they can pass the cost of the recall off on you.
