And I used to think it was bad when you almost had to pull the motor to change plugs.

Fuel pumps inside gas tanks.

There were many things on both the choppers I worked on and M-1's where the engineers did not think of the maintenance crews.

To change the #4 spark plug on my 4.3 vortec powered S 10, the steering knuckle had to be broken , and the shaft pushed aside.

This video didn't help, as the plug bottomed out on the steering shaft and wouldn't come out.

Hey, I love old 4.3 S10s I had a Baja w/off road stuff , lights, brush guard........still have it.

Plugs suck but a 5/8 plug socket with a 5/8 open wrench got you there, or use a 3/8" plug socket with a 3/8" u-joint adapter. Been there.

ALL engineers hate mechanics. You should see what we have to go through to take apart a turbine....

And I used to think it was bad when you almost had to pull the motor to change plugs.

I think it was the Mustang with the 390 in it . . . had to lift the motor up a tad to get em all out.

One I was told . . . drilled the fender well . . . took an electrical tool that punches holes for conduit . . . punched out big enough holes . . . plugged em with electrical plugs you use in a fuse box.

My pickup never gets all plugs changed. Just not going thru the trouble to get that last one out . . . life is too short for that garbage.

A neighbor also lost his cam in a little 4 banger Chevrolet . . . sideways front wheel drive motor . . . did the same thing. Drilled the wheel well . . . changed the cam . . . put an electrical plug in the hole.

May God bless,
Dwight

Lots of stupid shit you don't need.

We might make another thread about this....

Hydraulic clutch linkages

Fuel pumps in gas tanks

Automatic transmission in a truck w/o choice of HD manual.

ABS brakes, work on that POS

Spy systems that track you
