High End GMC Denial Starts @ 80K

GM is moving its GMC Sierra 1500 pickup further upmarket with two new high-end models, including one called the Denali Ultimate that will start at more than $80,000.

The new models aim to build upon the Sierra's already high profit margins and average transaction prices.
The other new pickup is the AT4X, a more luxurious and off-road capable pickup than the brand's current AT4, starting at $74,995.

The Denali came out first in 1999.

I remember building a prototype 1991, that we called the Denial, because we never thought it was going to be put into production.

If they still built these, in AMERICA again, I'd buy one. I think you could make a ripping SBC that passes EPA crap pretty cheap.

I had a 1970, it was orange with a white top, 1/2 ton long bed 2wd, three on the tree, on the side of the fenders had 400 badges, later found GM did that but they were really a 396, one of the fastest vehicles I've owned, I could do 90mph in second gear but I could never race from a stopped position I'd have to do rolling starts otherwise I'd melt the tires, those were the days.


Looked just like this only with a long bed.

I paid around $70K for a new 3 bedroom 3 bath all brick house in Texas in the late 80's. Damn house had a full masonry fireplace and Mescin Tile Floor in the entrance and kitchen. Planted a big ass post oak in the front yard and years later that oak had taken over the yard.

Built a 12x12 Deck off the back porch and for my first deck that thing was like a rock!

Good memories!

Those were the good GM days when about everything swapped out and a junkyard had a plethora of parts that fit.

Could take a I-6 250 car/truck and drop in a SBC or BBC with no fuss. Even crossbreeds like Pontiacs, Olds, and Buick had common parts.

paid $53,500 for my first house in 2005... 5bd 3ba 2500sqf built 1918, fireplace, beam ceilings, was a beauty... sold it 7 years later for $145k
