Friend comes over. Plan was simple couple mile ride. Top off tank on 2017 RGU put it away for a deep winter cleaning with sidecar off. Two years of winter riding had made a mess. Short distance from house at 55-60 mph wobble and crash. Slid about 100 to 150 feet upside down in a ditch. Got up walked up to road . Friend all ready calling LE and my wife. LE was there in 2 minutes. He had seen us ride by him.
Purchased the 2020 RGL a couple hours latter.

Glad for the world you made it, Smitty!

(I may be speaking out of turn because I know in my heart that our Lord has it all figured out...but I believe it will take more than a motorcycle wreck to snuff out Smitty901! :headbang: )

The Lord has blessed this house without end. Our lord has found reason to keep me around. I am sure one of the reasons is Payton.

I read "wobble" but what was the cause of the crash . . . or was it ever determined??

May God bless,
Dwight

Glad you survived that one.

I've had "the wobble" a few times, scary stuff but I guess my "death grip" on the bars saved me. Would not have went well as it was a sport bike and in my younger foolish days I was usually speeding.

The wobble setup likely due to a motor mount issue combined with road condition. One of those thing any element not there it would not happen. That day that time it all came together.. LE said road condition.
In my case the rear just laid the bike over in a split second.

Amen to praise the Lord . . .

My bike riding experience is no where near yours I'm sure Smitty901 . . . but off the left side of a 4 lane highway . . . in the median . . . making a left turn into a private driveway . . . I literally came within 1 inch of being drug off my bike (with my brother on the back behind me) . . . by a moron pulling a trailer . . . who had no idea of what he was doing.

I sold my Triumph 450 . . . and while I have kept the endorsement on my license . . . I've been on two wheels very seldom since. Not sure God was giving me a warning . . . but He has kept me here for 77 yrs . . . and it may have been different if I had stayed on two wheels.

So glad everything worked out for you though . . . be careful.

May God bless,
Dwight
