Damn things are different down here!
I guess they even call them Armadillos or something?

Always digging... little holes all over the yard...
Counted 8 in the back yard two days ago & one even wandered up on the patio.

It's crazy I tell you! Crazy!

The babies are kinda cute though. :)

I've heard a lot of them have botulism. I do not know if you can only catch it by eating them or if just handling them is enough. That is something you might want to check with PO or some of the other Texicans about.

(Arizona does not have them as far as I know. Arizona does not really do that "sissy wildlife".)

Welcome to Texas country. They eat grubs and bugs in the yard and pastures.

Those are what I always called called Texas speed bumps. The only time I ever seen them before now was when they were squashed in the middle of the road. :biglaugh:

Possum on the half-shell. Little known, (possibly true) fact- armadillos are the only animals besides people who can carry leprosy. Have fun, kids!

I wonder if they'd stack up like rocks. :triniti:

I guess you could use them as a quick weight-loss program then...

Q: Why did the leper leave the party?

A: Because folks kept thinking the back of his head was the bean dip.

Did you hear about the leper hockey game? There was a face off in the corner.

They don't see well, scare one and it'll smack right into the nearest tree. They do eat grubs but do more damage to the yard than the grubs do. The holes they dig and the fact that they carry leprosy is why I shoot em every chance I get. Hollow points or soft points expand nicely when they hit the shell and make a big hole as they pass through.

Shooting them can be fun, sometimes they jump up when shot.

Armadillos were all over S. Alabama when I was a kid, and we saw them moving north and east over the years but it seems like their migration has been halted somewhat over the past couple of years.

Nasty little bastards and no reason to keep them alive on your property.

Rubber ones are fun to mess with others but real ones need dead.

You can also get Leprosy from the armored little bastards, they're carriers of all sorts of disease.
