If you haven’t included Peas in your preps you are missing out on their wonderful, nutritious and life changing health benefits. Archaeologists and historians believe the garden pea originated in either Egypt or China, and it has been a part of the human diet for more than 5,000 years. Peas are considered a starchy vegetable, and an excellent source for energy, fiber, protein and essential vitamins. Peas are one of the most nutritious of the leguminous vegetables, again rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.

I love them fresh from the garden, tastes so much better. We also grow purple hull peas every year. Doesn't take much to give two people more than they can eat and store. Each plant produces multiple harvests and the pollinators love them. I hate having to shell them though.

Peas are good for so many things...
Put a few on a game trail - or float some in the lake -
When something stops to take a pea - you get 'em!

Shooting anything while its drinking is unsportsmanlike conduct.

Ok, taking this to the next level
I have planted about 20 acres of peas over the last 3 years, they are a great nitrogen fixer and I also plow them under in the late summer as "green fertilizer"
It could be argued that clover is equally as good but in my climate, peas are king (or maybe queens, I need to check that out)
I checked it out and they are king!
Peas are a weapon of mass destruction.
