FYI, You could do it with a Ford. My Mustang has a 351W block, with a Lunati forged stroker crank, 6.0" Chevy rods, and custom pistons on 351 C aftermarket aluminum heads, oh yea, EFI as well. No power adder, all motor. Pump gas, 93 oct. 383 Clevor. First dyno pull, 28 degrees timing, all motor, on a Stuska engine dyno, made 528 HP and 464 ft/lbs torque, only ran it to 6000 RPM. Wide band O2 looked rich, very conservative. Made a second pull, went to 7000 RPM, same settings, pig rich, and lost oil pressure. Stretched the mains, pinched off the oil and chewed the crank journals.

Yea, seemed to happen a little more often on the 302 blocks. 8.2" deck height vs 9.5" deck on the W motor. Maybe a little more mass in the castings, heavier block dampens harmonics different?

That motor was going to get a small shot of nitrous, maybe 100hp, plate system under the TB adapter. It had a squarebore single plane manifold that I modified for EFI. Didn't want to push it over the edge...

But that has become a mothballed project...

351w mexiscan block, scat crank, 302 pistons, C9 ford 351w rods shot peened and polished. Roush 200 heads, and .700 lift cam. Oh and 250hp port inject nitrous. 396 cubic inch. I just need to find something to put it. I was going to put it in my jeep j10, instead I built a new 304 for it.
