This new to me 2014 Jeep Patriot has red trim rings around the heat / A-C knobs --- one is missing --

Without fucking up the knobs ---- how do I get these hideous things off ?

I'm close to the point of using a hammer and chisel ---

P/S -- they're red --- I fuck-en hate red ---

I don't know for sure but accessory stuff like that usually either just pops off or you can push and twist it at the same time (one way or the other) and it'll unhook it from whatever catch is holding it on.

I would try a Sharpie first. Then you do not have to take anything off.

Its a aluminum ring with some sticky tape on the inside ---- and in the youtube vids --- they seem to click on when pressed ---- even if the knobs had a little set screw on the bottom --- theres no way to get to them now ---

If they were blue -- I guess I could live with it --- but fucking red --

Maybe a little Testors paint ?

Then I'd be staring at two large rings & one small one at every stop light ----

Tomorrow I'll post up a pic---

The only bad part of these multi control knobs --- the center controls some other features -- rear defrost / A-C on or off --

They aren't like beauty rings that snap over the actual knob?

They're fugly rings that glue & apparently snap over the knobs ----- but wait --

While searching for some kind of GPS for this shit box -- I found this ----

Time / index -- 1:30 --

At least I now know I can take the knobs into the apt. and melt them off with my bunsen burner --

P/S Edit -- And when I say Shitbox --- I got these last week and they go on tomorrow -- if its warm enough -- now its 12°

Just paint it and forget about it, until you paint it again.

Well, they are red right? Hang a few Christmas balls, add a few more lights, and you have a Christmas jeep! Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la

Yep...a Sharpie or a Paint Pencil from an automotive store with a paint department.

Wow those are red.
My cheap fix would be:
Black electrical tape around the knob - then sharpie whatever's left on the face

They also look aftermarket. It doesn't look factory, otherwise all 3 would be red. After you fix that, find the previous owner, and string them up on a Rice Pike.
