You guys got the wrong slant on things.

In the not too distant future . . . Israel is going to build a temple down in the City of David . . . just south of what is known as temple mount (which in reality in Jesus' day . . . was the Roman fort where their Legion was stationed) . . .

Sometime after that . . . they will then begin the daily sacrifice done by the Israelites in the Old Testament.

A world (or at least the local world) leader will then do two things . . . he will march his gentile butt into the temple . . . desecrating it . . . and demand the daily sacrifice be stopped . . . and somehow he will have the muscle to make that happen.

When that happens . . . when that individual . . . single . . . event . . . occurs . . . grab your hats folks . . . you have 1,335 days left . . . until this planet will go up in smoke . . .

If you are saved and bought by the blood of Jesus . . . all will end well for you.

If not . . . like the rich man who would not help little Lazarus . . . when he died . . . in hell he lifted up his eyes.

Think about it . . . then do something about it.

Mostly forget all the other junk mentioned in the above posts . . . watch for the temple to go up. THAT . . . is the single most important event to come in the near future.
