A Murdoch's store has a sale starting on September 12th. Buy a Rock Island Armory full size standard 1911 pistol for $449.99 and get a Rock Island armory TW .22 Feather rimfire rifle FREE. Hmmmm. I really don't need another 1911, but if it's a good deal....What'd ya think?

I guess I know where I'll be early on the 12th. I'll probably have to buy dies for another caliber now. :eyebrows:

What is not to like about that deal?

Not familiar with the rifle? Looks like a .22 AR

I went to the store yesterday and inspected the RIA 1911. Nice and tight, no wobble or looseness at all.
The .AR styled .22 seems to be pretty nice as well. The .22 only comes with one magazine and it's not a Ruger 10'22 style. I'll be at the store at 7:00 am sharp!

Post pics when you get them. I have one RIA, a base model, that I bought many years ago when they were really inexpensive. I have liked it and it has held up. The only oddity is that it is the only 1911 that I own that doesn't like Wilson 47D mags. It is flawless with Novak mags.

I wish I could post pictures, when my daughter and my grandkids come out here I'll have them give me a crash course on how to do picture posting. I'm pretty technically retarded.

Just posting on the forum, or getting the pictures from camera/phone?

I don't have a smart phone, I have an old dumb flip phone. I have a camera, that's pretty old too.

My RIA 45 is one of the few that didnt get burned. Just smoked.
And that big beautiful bitch still booms.
I paid 200 in a Bank of America parking lot about 15 years ago for her.

I only have a "dumb " flip phone too, but they have bluertooth.

Turn on the phone and computer bluetooth. Open a phone camera picture and hit "share", select bluetooth, it will "look" for a place to send it. Select your computer, your computer will prompt you if you want to accept the file, confirm that. On Macs the two devices will then be "paired".

On my mac/apple the picture gets downloaded to the downloads folder. Using whatever file name the phone had as a file. I open the file with Preview, then select File---> export. You can rename the file and export to your computer desktop. The original downloaded file from the phone will still be in your "downloads" folder.

You can do this with photos on your phone sent to you as text/emal attachments too.

PCs can do it to too, but I don't know the current method.

Hope you got a Mac and this helps.

Camera? I have an old Nikon D50 that takes SD memory cards, my computer is still old enough to have a SD card reader. Easy to transfer photos that way. If computer does not have a card reader, you can buy USB connect SD card readers <$30.

I went to the store and bought the 1911 and the AR-22. The 1911 was covered in oil and in a plastic bag. I need to clean both of them thoroughly. I picked up a 50 rd. box of ammo and with tax was out the door under $500.00. The pistol has plastic grips, they've got to go.
