Well, we have reports that the tower asked the helo pilots if they saw the plane, the help said "yes" and requested "visual clearance"- thus letting the tower off the hook.

Unacceptable, I heard reports those in the helo were equipped with night vision also. Is there any plausible excuse for this to happen? They are withholding names of the chopper crew at the request of the families.

My daughter and her husband want to fly the us to Hawaii to try and make nice for eloping, and not being invited to a genuine wedding. Guess what, my expired passport cannot even be used to renew my passport? I don't give a shit about the wedding invite. Gosh, I put up with driving 1800 miles from Wi. to Az and back again., and now they think I will put up with her I don't know for how many hours on a plane non-stop?

My amended birth certificate is no where to be found, so even if I wanted, I'd be SOL.

You're not missing much. Of course, I may be the only person on the entire planet that didn't like Hawaii, but I was going stir crazy after being there about 3 hours. I HATED IT!!! It is crazy expensive. The last time I was there was about 10 years ago and prices there, at that time, were even higher than they are here now.

I was working, not vacationing. But the only hotels there are in the tourist areas. So they put me up at some stupid-expensive hotel right on Waikiki Beach (because there were no other options). I was working at Pearl Harbor. So I had to drive there every day. The building I was working at was less than 10 miles from my hotel but it was still nearly an hour drive each way to get back and forth to work! Traffic was a friggin' nightmare! Plus, I am used to driving normal freeways where the exits are about 1 mile apart. In Hawaii, because everything is so much smaller, the freeway exits are only about 1/4 mile apart! Add to that, they have both left exits and right exits from the freeway and it is a complete shitstorm! You might get on from the left and have only 1/2 mile to cut across 4 lanes of traffic to get off on the right! I was ready for a mental institution just from the driving there after 5 days!

Plus it is HUMID! I mean, REALLY friggin' HUMID, ALL THE DAMN TIME!!!! It rains almost every day. And even when it does not rain, you are walking around with soggy clothes just from the damn humidity.

And I was so claustrophobic, I was damn near homicidal after just a couple hours!

Also, nobody speaks English! I came home with a damn Japanese accent! I called home and I was calling Mrs Inor "Round eye"!

In the airport, you not only have to stand in line to be screened by the TSA (they did not do TSA Pre-Check there at the time), you also have to stand in line to be screened by the USDA! They X-rayed my bags to see if I was bringing back pineapples!!! They got mad at me when I asked the question if the TSA people were too damn stupid to be able to recognize a pineapple. Complete fucking morons!

I absolutely HATED Hawaii!!! If I had my druthers, I would turn the entire state into a radioactive slag heap!

2 names have been released. Neither was a Muhammad. Males. HOWEVER- the third crew member has been identified, but name will not be released due to family request. Rumors are that the third was female. Family is worried that that information will trigger misogynistic blow-back from the public, and claims of "DEI". Apparently she was very experienced, and very good at her job. The family's worries worry me. Mistakes happen, to everyone, at all skill levels. Has nothing to do with her being a woman. As previously stated, this is a tragic accident. Yes, it could have been prevented. Yes, it resulted in a massive loss of life. Super, SUPER sad. BUT, at the end of the day, please remember the oldest rule in the world- Shit happens.

It’d be easier to stray out of the corridor if it were a Lima.
Regardless, the there was only one controller on duty when there should have been two. The controller’s instructions were crappy, to say the least.
The talking heads have been yapping about the two different frequencies. What I don’t understand is why the 60 wouldn’t monitor the other frequency.
Oh, the remote control rumor is nonsense. The aircraft would have to have been modified for that system.
For the record, I’m an avionics mechanic who maintains UH-60M Blackhawks.

It was a Blackhawk.

Oh; something else that the “aviation experts” being interviewed by FNC continuously get wrong is that the Hawk DOES have the ADS-B. It is Mode-S selection on the transponder. There’d be no reason that they wouldn’t have been using Mode-S at Reagan.
