Ok for at least 20 years as I've raised sheep, horses, and cows the general fix all for skin irritations, and major cuts has been "Bag Balm"

To this day when my get cracked skin or a minor infection, this is the go-to salve. IMO don't worry about stocking triple antibiotic, just buy a 10 ounce can of Bag Balm.
Great for sore lips, great for treating suture wounds, also great for cracked fingers, cracking feet, and most any animal wound you have on the ranch.
Also it is cost effective, a 10 ounce "can" can last for years.
