It’s time to set your matches aside, this neat tip from survival expert Creek Stewart will teach you in a few simple steps how to start fires with a guitar pick.

As it turns out, guitar picks made of celluloid are highly flammable and can be shaved to provide fire starting material. Since picks are small, cheap, and easy to store, this makes them ideal for building emergency fires.http://www.outdoorhub.com/how-to/2015/04/30/video-start-fire-guitar-pick/

Haven't watched the video yet, but read it, and I remember seeing ping pong balls are highly flammable.

Video is no big deal. Just shave off some celluloid from a guitar pick and hit with some spark.

Most people wouldn't have a guitar pick on them except a guitar player who most likely always has one in their pocket so the moral of the story should be if your not a guitar player your going to perish:biglaugh:

I think the point is, all kinds of innocuous household goods are useful for starting a fire: ping pong balls, guitar picks, hairspray, WD-40, chihuahuas, etc.

Just feed them refried beans, wait an hour or so then stand back! :biglaugh:

Hand sanitizer is flammable. Requires a lighter and its hard to see the flame.
Model glue in a tube.
Dried poop. The settlers used dried buffalo poop to burn. The Indians had better sense. Indian head pennies most likely....

Then there was that scene in Cheech and Chong with the dog poo if anyone REMEMBERS that.

naw...You just keep knocking on the door until they spontaneously combust from all the shaking and the friction from trying to make that big yap come out of such a tiny head,
