Being on this site- I find one thing interesting. I know a lot of you are like me and it would be a pretty rough day if I happened to be someplace without a knife. Airplane trip/crash? that would be the one time I might not have one right away, but I'm sure I would be able to fabricate something pretty quickly with all the jagged aluminum around.

Other than that- it's a good video for making you think outside the box.

That is a good trick to use, I was thinking that I would look around for glass. There are a lot of beer bottles scattered all over the place.
And I feel undressed without a knife anymore, so I usually have one. But broken glass would be an alternative if I did not have the knife.

We used to teach this in MP school and at the police academy as a way to cut a set of flexi cuffs . My best time with a leather boot lace was under 30 seconds

I am without a knife every Sunday and Friday when I have to go through the airports. For that reason, I am NEVER without a good quality ballpoint pen. It will make a pretty good improvised shiv if the muslims on the flight get restless. So the pen is indeed mightier than the sword (when you are not allowed to have a sword).
