My peppers are turning black. It's a small pepper bush, and I have taken about four peppers from it, one at a time. Today, two peppers have a Black streak or blemish. I'm eating those two now. Still crisp, still pretty hot.

Any ideas?
Too much Sun?
Too much water?
Oh, they are planted in a box planter, with commercial soil for raised beds.

What kind of peppers? Green peppers do this when they are left on the plant for too long and over ripen. Or it could be blossom end rot from the wrong soil PH or nutrient deficiency.

Can you post a picture?

Add some lime, calcium. That's what I think.

So I sprinkle it on the dirt, or on the plant?

You need to buy a soil test kit. Then you can add what is needed accordingly. Whatever dry type you add, you can mix into your soil around the plant.
We like to use Miracle Grow on some veggies. You can get it at Wal-Mart, or anywhere for about $4. Mix with water and pour or spray.
Its a 24-8-16. That means it's 24% nitrogen, 8% phosphate, 16% potash.
