Dandelion Root

Fact or fiction? IDK. I'm drying some right now in my dehydrator.

We had heard years ago about a guy who had lung cancer, and the doctors did all they could, but sent him home to die.
He had heard about the Dandelion root, and began taking it. 3-4 months later he was cancer free.

So, we have a good friend who has also been sent home to die. Hospice has even turned off his pacemaker.
Hubby told him about the root, and he wants to try it. But his wife and kids are not sure, partly because they are concerned it might be a bad combination with the other medications he's on.

Anyone else ever heard of this? There is a lot on line about it.

Never heard of it used for cancer but you're right, there is a ton of info on the net... According to the Komen folks, results are inconclusive. But apparently it's been used in China for centuries to help with the big C. I would reckon most doctors are against this sort of thing because it's natural.

Yeah, if the drug companies can't make money off of it, the public isn't going to see it.
Hubby called tonight and the guys son told him he had too many allergies to try it.
I'm going to keep drying some and keep it around. We've lost a lot of friends to cancer.

I am not certain that all other options exhausted I wouldn't try it. If they send you home to die what have you to loose at that point?

The dichotomy and evil of the FDA drug approval process is that 50% of the "test" subjects have to die to prove a new drug is effective.

In these "double-blind" trials, half of terminal patients receive the new drug and the other 50% receive a placebo. If the placebo patients all die, and the new drug receivers have a statistically better survival rate, then the drug may be approved.

This is a gruesome method of "proving" a drug IMHO. The reality that the new drug may be effective but patients are forced to gamble on a 50/50 proposition to live is criminal. All methods and possibilities should be available to those who have terminal illnesses, despite whether they have been "approved" or not.

You do know 100% of VA hospitals are used for fielding new drug trials right? We get a lot of chances to die for our country! I've been approached by no less than 8 trials in the last month!...all I have to do is quit taking my insulin and antidepressants !

Heard its all edible but bitter if you eat the roots from dozens of sources....Look it up on Google!

I drink a self mixed tea with Dandelion root, Chaga and Lionsmane.

I harvest all my own, and drink this either cold or hot but down about 2 liters of this a day.

Reading this thread this is the first I have heard of this, but I will check my PDR for Herbal Medicine and see what it says.

By the way, the Physicians Desk Reference for Herbal Medicine is a great book to own. Get you a copy, you will soon see after owning it that you do not ever need medication again.
