So, Hubby decided we're going to incubate and sell chicks. :banghead:
There are 54 eggs that have to be turned twice a day.

Yep. We're getting 9 or 10 a day now, out of 11 hens. I've sold 7 dozen so far.
Hubby wants to order 2 more types of chickens from McMurray. The madness is REAL!

HAHAHA!!! Yeah. We have a commercial chicken farm not too far from here. You can smell it from over a mile away. Good luck with that. :biglaugh:

I'll tell ya what's worse than living near chicken houses, living near a paper mill! There's one 30 miles north of me and I can smell it when the wind comes from the north. Don't know how those guys can stand to work in that stench!

We had a meat chicken shed as a kid The crap got almost what seems like a foot deep then the old man would make me pitch fork it out. The ammonia and smell was eye watering terrible. I believe you guys and gals when you say the commercial places stink !

Paper mills oh yeah and Sugar plants stink too..

I've been knee deep in a 13,000 laying hen barn, . . .

I've been knee deep in a loafing shed with 200+ milk cows (brown stuff about 10 inches deep :-( )

And I've just been "down the road" from the pig barn.

I'll take the cattle or chicken ANY TIME, . . . ANY DAY, . . . ANY WEEK, . . . ANY HOW.
