I am BACK! Just came back from a hiatus (had 2 kids) but I have continued my prepping during the whole thing. I stopped by the other site earlier and WTF happened to it??!? There is nothing but junk on there! Any who, who's still around from the old days? The last time I was here the site was just getting off the ground. Looks like you guys have had some success. Congrats on that.

I just took my HAM Technicians test yesterday.... I am currently waiting for my callsign. I came on here to find out about building a cheap functional antenna. The other place was no help at all.

Welcome back.
Welcome back...Not sure whats going at other sites, but this one is the go to site for me. I wasn't wanted there so...I am here.simple enough... Fairly slower pace so I get my reading done faster and my few smart ass remarks....less and less people to aim them at so I reckon the old timers here have just gotten used to my sporadic smart assed comments from time to time, since I haven't been threaten by a ban since....ever I think.
Did you bring any liibtards with you? Did ya, did ya,...what's in the box...sniff..snnniifffff, is that a liberal in there......WHAT'S IN THE BOX??????
Welcome back rjd, hope all else is well

I settled on an "Ed Fong" jpole pvc antenna. I am setting up a repeater in my shed with the jPole about 40ft up. The shed is solar powered. My goal is to be able to communicate with like minded people in my group who have HT's incase the local repeaters are not on battery backup. Most of us are within 15 miles of each other. I will post some pictures soon.

For a really decent and not expensive J-Pole, check this out. I've had the same one over 20 years now.
