I was checking oil and this happened.

Now I gotta figure out how to get the rest of it out.

Grandpa always told me that Viagra would fix a broken dipstick.

cant tell in pic if part of the base is still there.
If so run a small self tappong screw in it an pull out

That was my first idea too. Don't have one small enough so I'll hit the hardware store later. Thanks!

Dipsticks always get broken, that's why they are called dipsticks.

I try to dig at it from the side with a dental pick or a valve packing remover that looks like this-

Remind me never to come to you if I have an impacted bowel.

Unbolt the tube and pull the tube. That is what I did. The stick and tube kit for that truck was only 8 bucks more than just the stick. That was 10 years ago though.

Like sp said, the tube should be held on at the bottom with one bolt. If you can get one of the screw tools shown above, it would prob. Pop it out too.

Deebo is right, alternate could be to pressurize the crankcase after sealing off vents.

Frigging Chryslers. Just had the same issue with the wife's van. I drilled a small hole and stated a sheet rock screw into it then pulled the broken dipstick out. Seems to be a rash of this lately, another couple we know had the same thing happen to their van 2 days after ours went. Cheap shit plastic seems to be the issue.

As a side note, buy a factory original dipstick as the one I ordered on line was about 3/4" longer than the factory one. Stuck it in there for now but need to get a new factory one.

Yep it was a Dodge. I got it out with a screw. Gonna order a new one but it'll work like that for now.

Only one smart a$$ post with a title like this. I'm disappointed folks.
