If you are wondering what is the best driveway alarm (always subjective and dependent upon your requirements), let me offer my years of experience having installed and used all sorts of different wireless devices for my own home security – devices (e.g motion sensors / alarms) that are designed to alert you inside your home that a vehicle is approaching and/or coming down your driveway or private road…

I have finally installed what I believe is the best driveway alarm (that I currently am aware of),

I know that thier gate openers work well. I think we just might put 1 of these in at our new property.

Thanks Hawg.

My driveway is 900 feet and we are approximately 80 feet above the start of the driveway. It also winds around two corners. The entire driveway is lined with trees until you get 200 feet or so from the house. I wonder if this will work or if anyone else knows of a better option?

Thanks. Good price too. I've been wanting one or 3 of these for awhile but it's always on the back burner. My dogs do a great job but getting that extra 400 feet of notice would be nice.

Looks like the range is 400 foot the best I could tell. I'm sure there is an option for you out there somewhere. You could probably Slippy rig this one to work by extending the cable on the unit to 400' from your door? But IDK if the batteries are up to it. Just guessing.

142 years ago when I did over night security for a yacht club up here -- the only driveway in was about 300-ish ft. long -- with the closest outlet about 50' away from the end --

Using a regular overhead motion director for flood lights -- with a 1900 box wired for it -- plugged into power -- 200' of cord to the M/D on a camera tripod set at 3' high facing the street -- the power on wire that would have turned on the floods went to a 12V transformer powering a Radio Snack car alarm with a pager / beeper -- after fiddling with it so passing cars in the street didn't set it off -- cars & people walking in would page me up to 1/4 mile away --

If I added a longer antenna ------ ?

Now with the wireless back up cameras -- It's got to be cheaper to rig-up your own system ?

I grew up with a Cur named Bud. We always had a dog named Bud. There must have been at least 4 of them growing up. Hard to beat a good Cur dog.
