Slingshots aren’t exactly firearms. However, I consider them as being a “back-to-basics” when it comes to launching small projectiles at targets down range: a reminder of why some of us like to shoot. Being back home for part of the summer, my dad was nice enough to refurbish some 30+ year old slingshots that I had used growing up. Mostly for the younger kids to learn and practice on, but honestly I’m not ashamed to admit that shooting slingshots is still a lot of fun.

One of the best parts about slingshots that you can just walk around and find natural targets. However, besides rehabbing the old wrist rockets,

Mine is like the two with the yellow bands on them.

About a month ago, went to get it for a cat, . . . rubber was dry rotted, . . . had to order new ones.

Almost gave up when I finally was able to find some on Amazon, . . . she is back in top shooting order.

AND, . . . I've got enough rubber left to build a rubber band bow. I won't get it done for a while, . . . but when I do, . . . I'll post it. They would never take down a deer or anything that big, . . . but for rabbits, coons, dogs, cats, . . . it's the "cats meow".

May God bless,
Dwight

I suspect I would hit myself in the head with the rock, before it launched. I better stick with something simple ........ point, aim, pull trigger.

The wrist rocket was the cats meow in my day. Have you guys seen the old guy video that is insanely good with a slingshot?

I tried to use them a few times and I learned I suck at it
they are not really hard to practice with long as long you have a clear widen enough path because they only go 2 ways, forwards towards the target or backwards to my forehead.
and they pretty accurate in the hands of someone who has Da skillz
I am still very much into ancient culture I'm plan one day learn to use a shepherd's sling.
one day I feel that shepherd's sling will be used more often in small game by hunters who are up for challenge
takes good skill and practice but deadly at very least, David was a small men and we know how that ended up for Goliath the Gittite

I hijacked this thread :pyro:

I got into lots of trouble with one of those when I was a kid. Lots of broken glass and pissed of rollerbladers. The good Ole days. Still have mine. Ball bearings make the best ammo.

1/4 oz wheel weights work really well with them too.

Axe me tomorrow, I'm not finding it tonite. I just put the new rubber band with it Friday. The LL trophy is above the telebision set.

I'd have a better chance of showing 10K of empty brass than a wrist rocket tonite. I tripped over something like that
