An old NCO of mine used to do that . . . I could never get the hang of it.

That is pretty cool! Everyone on my fire department carries flat webbing stored in a daisy chain (what that is called) in their gear pocket. I never thought of using that on cords. That was slick.

We call that method putting it in "baby knots". It sucks, and we make fun of guys who do it. However, we also do NOT roll the cord around our elbow/ forearm either. That causes twists in the cord. There are much better methods.

Isn't extension cord storage methodology a problem for that Mexcan fella, you got helpin' ya to worry about?
