So you thought you were gaining a modicum of privacy when you switched from Chrome to the TOR browser and started using IXQuick instead of Google. Think again. If you are browsing the OTP on your phone, expect your phone carrier to be tracking everything you do (in addition to the NSA).

At least the telecoms "appear" to be trying to self regulate their privacy data.
FWIW

Yup. Something I've said before. All of these proxies and 'anonymous,' browsing utilities are great . . . until the ISP's and those who run them decide to comply.

Well the ball game is over and has been for quite some time. I've come to grips with the fact that no matter what kind of electronic device I am using -- I am being watched by either commercial interests or outright government spying. I can't obsess over it, otherwise I'd go batty. Just as long as I don't reveal what I am REALLY thinking with topics like the bitch or the commie, I should be ok. heh

There is NO privacy on the internet.

There is NO privacy on the internet.

I'm not sure there is any effective privacy anywhere anymore.

I grew up in a small town back when they still had shared telephone lines, with specific rings for each family's dwelling. Well before cell phones and the internet....

It didn't matter what I did, when or where...it seemed everyone in my town knew everything about it within a day.

Privacy is an illusion we try to keep alive to feel free and it also makes people who want to do criminal things screw up by thinking they actually have it and they plan, document, or discuss ithe crime before hand.

Yes Sir OSFG! You are correct.

The other day Mrs Slippy was filling out some insurance stuff and asked me if she should fill out a certain section of the form. I said, fill it out, they already have that info.

Well before cell phones and the internet....Wow, you're as old as dirt, I do not remember cranking the handle to wake up Mabel to connect me to Billy's house, but I do remember "party lines", and it wasn't a party... Our phone number was Main 6-0000.

I'm sure Alexander would be proud of us today, but the video phone I saw in Tomorrow Land never came about... just when cell phones took over.

When we moved out into the country, . . . our phone took like a month to get installed, . . . shared party line (ours was the long ring, . . . Collier's got the short ring, . . . Rickle's got a long and a short), . . . and our phone number was 282. Later it went up to 8-2282, . . . then still later, 548-2282.

A couple years before that, . . . I got my first inkling of privacy being an illusion on my first day of school in the 1st grade. When Mrs. Anderson told us it was recess time and we could go play, . . . me and Doug, . . . started playing leapfrog on our way out of the room. He got stuck in the west corner, . . . I got the east, . . . and when I got home a couple hours later, . . . my mom asked me why I got stood in the corner.

So much for privacy.

May God bless,
Dwight
