We have been using Mountain House meals for a few years and they have been tasty and filling. Great back ul meal or nice hot lunch in the blind.
But they have raise prices and shrunk the oz on the packs at Walmart.
Today while at Dicks I found these side by side with the Mountain House these were actually $2 cheaper slightly more ozs and more protein.
Will have a review for our sprin bug out

I have never tried Wise foods. I know taste is a matter of personal preference, but I have heard lots of people say Mountain House tastes a lot better than Wise. I would try what you got before you order a bunch more. If you like Mountain House, I would order Mountain House from Amazon. The single serving packets sold on Amazon are bigger than the ones carried at Wal-Mart. At least there was a size difference a few months ago.

Those look interesting. Love the mountain house for sure. But your right the price hike is crappy! The coleman meals suck compared to the mountain house. Id be interested in trying the wise meals. The one pictured looks good.

Went to the park today had lunch with the family decided to give these meals a try.
I dont so much compare flavor as I do quality of ingredients.
All dehydrated meals are made basic and bland so adding flavor is a must with all brands.
I do feel the quality was a little less with these than Mountain House but they did the trick very filling and prepared easy enough. I will be sampling other flavors and see how they go.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170422/64de8c405f77105b81dd8482e8f2af85.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170422/74a1d435f495af960b3ced548ead1065.jpg

I'm always open to being surprised. I used to backpack a lot.

I have no problem dropping a few bucks o these meals not so much for long term but as a edc pack meal or deer blind hot lunch now and then. Or even a backup plan bugout practice meal. If you pack your own seasoning they are 10× better.
In the dehydration thread I posted a home made dehydrated spaghetti meal and it was pretty good so you could make your own with the right set up.

I just wish I could find a conex box full of C rations.
I found them to be great, . . . with the exception of the ham and lima beans, . . . just could not cut them.
May God bless,

Do the WISE meals come in the 5 gallon bucket anymore?

I saw them on Amazon, from the single serving to a 5 year supply.

I have found Wise to be of lower quality than Mountain House, less flavorful, and the shelf-life they claim is not holding up to testing.
This applies to their LTS food supplies. I have no experience with their camping pouches.
I will not use, or recommend them.
Just my opinion.
