Howdy folks. I've been way too busy to be on the forum these last few months. Lots of big changes have been happening in my life. I'm in the process of moving to Oklahoma and have changed careers from Tire Builder to Motor Builder. It's been a learning process but I'm making more money and on a better schedule. I hope all is well with y'all and I apologize for my recent disappearance. Mrs. Ark is doing well and easily found work out here. I am amazed at how much work is available in Oklahoma. So different than east Texas. I'm looking forward to hearing from buddies on OTP now that I have more time.

Just because he is becoming a motor builder doesn't mean Ark hasn't run off and changed gender ... after all, he definitely is moving to the wrong side of the Red River for a Texan. :damn:

We remanufacture all brands, and build our own from scratch. The big job we're working on now is for the Tennessee Valley Authority. Seems like 90% of the work is on Westinghouse and G.E. motors. I'm hoping to get training in the winding department, they make the big bucks and are hard to find. Most of them are over 60 and ready to retire... Major job security and money to be made for a younger person willing to learn.

Well there's 2 things for sure, I didn't change genders or get probed... As for the house I've leased haycutting on the 30 acres to pay taxes. Not sure what I'm gonna do with it yet. Considering putting it in the market or renting the house + a couple acres if I can find the right renter... time will tell.

Hey Ark!

Welcome back! So you moved to the land of NO BEER! If you are anywhere near OKC check out Van's Pig Shack. I think they have 2 or 3 of them. Very excellent BBQ.

God no. That stuff wouldn't pass my lips. Even Budweiser is better than that.

There's lots of good strong beer sold in OK, a lot of it is made here. COOP is one brand, good stuff. You just have to go to a liquor store to buy it.

Winding is not hard, and usually climate controlled!!!
Go for it, and yes, Class A winders are getting to be a specialty.
