Sinkholes seem to be a pretty common problem over on the west coast of Florida, all around the Tampa area.

There are some small ones here in St Pete, I have seen them in the streets. But so far, no huge ones that I know of; that could change in a minute though.
The ground here is unstable and undermined by water.

I would think that the boat at least would float.If it was trailered, it would have the drain plug out to drain the rain water...

Yeah, it is a problem, and with no good answer. When I lived in West Virginia it was floods, down here it is sinkholes and hurricanes.
Something else that I have noticed, all of the stupid people from NY, came here to vegetate: and it is one potential calamity after the other.
