    CRKT

I have a couple I everyday carry because if I lose it I wont cry. Now I have high $ benchmade and spydaco but dont want to lose them.

Caught the clip on something the other day and bent it out. Anyway I went looking around later and I dont know if everyone is aware of this.

CRKT on their site has a parts page where you can enter the model number and the part you need and they send it to you for FREE.
Took about a week to get a new clip and screws.

Anyway just thought i would pass this on.

I have a CRKT M16 titanium folder that I carry most days. Got it for 75% off (23 and change) at the Post Exchange a couple of years ago. It is a heavy, well constructed folder. I like the dual blade locking mechanism, once you have had a folder come back on you those become really important in a hurry. I have a couple of benchmades, Gerbers, Bokers and Kersaw blades that I use as well, like guns and ammo, one can never have too many knives.

I've been carrying a CRKT since my first deployment in Baghdad. Great little knives.
"Every person’s life is theirs by right. An individual’s life can and must belong only to himself, not to any society or community, or he is then but a slave. No one can deny another person their right to their life, nor seize by force what is produced by someone else, because that is stealing their means to sustain their life. It is treason against mankind to hold a knife to a man’s throat and dictate how he must live his life."

The only CRKT I own is a small assisted knife call the Ichi I think, nice little knife but a bit thicker in the handle and thinner in the blade than I wanted. I needed a small knife for work where I'm limited to a 2" blade so I thought that one might fit the bill. I ended up switching to a Spyderco Chicago which has been a great knife, a 2" blade in BD1 steel. For everyday carry not at work it's either a Benchmade 943, a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 or recently an Ontario Rat 1 which I really like even if it is an AUS 8 blade. I can tell you for a fact I will never knowingly own another knife with a blade made from 8CR13MOV. I had a Kershaw Ember with that steel and it absolutely would not hold an edge, that may have been a heat treat issue but it was so bad I gave the knife away.

That's good to hear on the parts replacement!

My EDC for the past couple years has been an M16 with the Zytel handle. First I had the serrated blade but after a year or so I found out that they have the same knife with a straight edge so bought that.

I want to like serrated but it just doesn't seem to be the edge for most things I use it for. I think it's just because I grew up with straight edges before serrated became as common as it is today.

I really like my CRKT knives. I prefer some of their older models, but the new ones are good knives too. I am looking at getting their new Freyer Ax/Hatchet. I'm not sure how useful it will be, but it looks cool.
