I really liked my Xd 45 but do not regret the trade for my Xbow that is a great price on mags

I did not like mine at first - it just did not feel "right" to me. I kept it and kept shooting it because I also paid too much for it when I bought it. After a while, it kind of grew on me. Now it is my everyday carry and I really like it.

The only aftermarket thing I did to it was to replace the slide release button/pad (whatever the hell you call it). The factory one was flat with just some knurling on it. With the new springs it was nearly impossible to operate. And since you need to use it to take the gun apart for cleaning, it was a real pain in the ass. I got a replacement one, also from Palmetto, that actually stuck out a bit. That was MUCH better.

Thanks BucketBack, . . . my XD got magically transformed into an all steel ATI commander size 1911.

And truthfully, . . . I don't miss it. Like Inor said, . . . it was hard to get used to, . . . and I just was not into it strong enough to hang on.

Besides that, . . . if the barn door was open, . . . I'd be shootin' air, . . . cause I couldn't hit the broad side of the barn with it.

Now the ATI, . . . whole different ball game. Wish I could get a bunch of stainless 8 round mags for it for a really good price. I've only got 8 or 10 now, . . .

    May God bless,
    Dwight
If you can breathe, . . . thank God.

If you can read, . . . thank a teacher.

If you can read in English, . . . thank a veteran.

My XD45 rests in my XDm45 paddle holster clipped to the map pocket of the trailblazer drivers door.

I would trade the XD for a XBow also. PSA is clearing the XD45Mod II out for $349 shipped
The Mod II is an upgrade from the old XD45
So you got an XBow for $350

The XDm45 with 9 round mag carries nice, and takes the 13 round mags also.

I have the 5.25" XDM and while its hard to carry, I never had a problem with mine, great pistol.
