    My Samsung Galaxy s8 takes some pretty good pictures compared to the Nikon I used before the phone. Also takes some clear video

    Is that the size of the image sensor is much much larger in the DSLR camera. I am not knocking the phones of course, but you have way more control over your pictures with a camera like in the picture, if you are into that. Also, you can blow them up really big without the image becoming real grainy. And, you can take "trick shots" like this:

    This vehicle was only going about 30 mph, but I used a very slow shutter speed and followed the vehicle by moving the camera along with it, resulting in what appears to be a car moving at high speed.
