Vermeer SC30TX grinding up an oak stump

    Guess what I'm doing today?

$265 for an overnite rental with trailer OTD

I have 6 oak, and 9 pine stumps to grind. Stumps average 20", with 3 under.

Bid came in at $4 a inch aka $950 with equipment fee from Tree Company

Last time I ground stumps was summer of 1993.

Gonna need that EFI system this morning, it's 28 degrees outside, with a eerie moon out.

Be careful with those stump grinders. About 10 years back, we had a horrible accident where a local teenager was killed by a stump grinder. It was not pretty.

This has a deadmans switch. You take you hand off the joystick that controls up/down and side to side, the cutter stops

The old style side operation Vermeer was a tow behind and had 4 levers that had no brain. Crap would come flying right through the rubber and smack you.

    That was dangerous.

I knocked out 7 stumps in 2 hours. I can't go out to play until 1:20 when Mom's Ativan is due
